Behind the Scenes! Backstage at MYER SS15 Fashion Runway Show

photo 2(4)I recently had the opportunity of being part of the backstage team at (all-the-amazingness-that-is) MYER’s SS15 Fashion Runway Show. I was part of the dressers team. As a dresser, we are all assigned our own models for the day. We steam and spot clean, then in the frantic rush of it all, we dress them in each of their looks before they rush off down the runway. It was great to see what goes on behind the curtains of the runway and it was such an adrenalin high that hours of work seemed to pass by in the blink of an eye.

Below- Charlee, the model I dressed. This stunning Toni Maticevski gown was my absolute favourite of her looks.

Observatorie x Belle Flaneur = Pre Fall 2014 Givenchy Installation @ Robby Ingham Paddington

photo 1(7)

This week I had the absolute privilege of working under the wing of the founder and director of Belle Flaneur, Natalie Coulter. Myself and Tracy Dixon (@StyleWiser on instagram) assisted in the installation of the Givenchy Pre Fall 2014 window displays and in store merchandising at the ah-mazing Robby Ingham store in Paddington.  Natalie is ALL about sustainable living. Her installations prove no different. She works closely with Reverse Garbage to repurpose and resuse and create from materials that would otherwise be made into landfill.

photo 1(9)We pulled props together to get a feel for the look. We were going for a really raw, organic vibe to juxtapose the strong lines and bold colours in the Givenchy collection.

It was such a fantastic opportunity to work with some very talented and passionate people as well as fantastic product.

Urban Rituelle Product Launch

I was recently invited to attend Urban Rituelle’s Launch for their new range ‘Weekender’. The launch was hosted by Kat and the team at ‘Her Fashion Box’ at their super sleek warehouse Head Quarters . It was a great opportunity to mingle with other bloggers and most importantly to meet Leanne Haining, the mastermind behind the Urban Rituelle phenomenon.

For those who don’t know of Urban Rituelle, they are an Australian made and owned bath & body company. They make everything from hand creams and soaps, to home fragrances. Just from meeting Leanne you can tell she puts a lot of thought into her products. Her fragrances all have a personal meaning to her as they are all symbolic of a time, place or memory from her own life. Even down to the design of the packaging it all relates back to the sensory experience Leanne tries to deliver to her customers.

The new collection ‘Weekender’ showcases three destinations.

Country Garden which they describe as a gourmand blend featuring the soothing scents of warm, simmering pear drizzled with sweet vanilla.

Beach House. (also an UR best seller) A delicate, aquatic blend featuring the soft scent of white musk layered with fragrant lotus blossoms.

and my personal favourite, Alpine Loft. A sensuous blend featuring the sweet, citrusy notes of bergamot infused with the warm, comforting notes of golden amber.

Even though Leanne started out as a soap company, I must say I really enjoyed her hand creams. I took home the Alpine Loft hand cream which is just a joy to rub all over dry hands. Moisturising without being greasy!
